Image
Lately I have been getting a lot of requests from my readers to post some different and unique snacks recipes . Therefore, thought of coming up with some delish starters that you can make and serve during tea time or as party appetizers . For me, the most loved Indian tea time snack happens to be the ever popular Punjabi Aloo Samosa and talking about the continental recipes, I am a great fan of Italian cuisine; the aroma of dried herbs, garlic, basil and cheese is simply to die for. Well, what if we do a fusion of these two beautiful flavours/techniques? Thought over it for a couple of days and suddenly this idea of trying out these " Garlic & Herbed Baby Corn Samosa Cigars " popped in my mind. So, one may ask, why I call them Samosa Cigars? That is because the crust covering the baby corns inside is made using the same technique that we use to make the samosas. The only difference is, it is flavored with some fresh garlic, some chopped basil and a bit of dry Ita

Namak Paarey | Indian Salted Fried Crackers

Image
These deep fried Indian salted crackers have been one of may favorite tea time munchies since the childhood days. I still remember how elderly ladies of our home, especially during festivities like Holi and Diwali , would assemble together and indulge in making huge batches of mathris, nimkis , namak paarey, gujiyas, laddoos and other sorts of irresistible snacks and nibblies. That used to be the best time-pass for all of us kiddos watching them and waiting eagerly to hog on such delectable stuff as soon as it was out of the kadhai. Writing all this, I can once again sense that wonderful aroma of ajwain and saunf whiffing in the air, reminiscing me of such sweet and unforgettable memories of childhood. As Holi is just knocking on our doors, why not step back in time and relive those good old days by making these crunchy-munchy tea time snackers yet again in our very own home kitchens? Ingredients and step by step recipe is listed below; do scroll down to have a look at the same.

Ankurit Moong aur Palak ki Muthiya | Sprouted Moong and Spinach Fried Fingers

Image
Sprouted moong and spinach when combined together, makes for a healthy, nutritious and wholesome food. Lately, I used this combination in preparing these fried muthiyas, that turned out to be awesomely delicious and flavorful. And no, they are not the traditional Gujarati muthiyas, which are made with gram flour and whole wheat flour; instead they have just been named so because of their cylindrical shape. Actually they are simple fried snacks that make for perfect choice to be nibbled with your evening tea or to be served as a light appetizer for your parties and get-togethers. Do try them once and I promise, you would make them quite often. Sprouted Moong and Spinach Fingers Ingredients Sprouted Green Moong - 1 cup Spinach (washed and roughly chopped) - 2 cups Spring onion greens (finely chopped) - 1/4 cup Boiled and mashed potato - 1/2 cup Onions (finely chopped) - 1/4 cup Ginger (grated) - 2 tsp Green chilies (finely chopped) - 2 to 3 Coriander (finely chopped) - 1

Chatpate Achaari Arbi Tuk | Tangy & Spicy Colocasia Bites

Image
Arbi Tuk is a very famous recipe which has its roots in the Sindhi cuisine. I first got a chance to savour this tongue-tickling delicacy at one of my Sindhi friend's home; crispy taro root bites bursting with tangy and spicy flavors were delectable enough to turn me into a great fan of this recipe the very moment I tasted them.....that is not all, when I first made this recipe at home, my husband too loved it and since then, whenever he gets to know that I have bought arbi from the market he is like 'please arbi tuk zaroor banana'....today also I made it on his request and thought of sharing the recipe with you all...also, just to tell you, I have given these tuks a chatpata achaari twist which definitely makes them all the more irresistible....do try them and have them as tea-time snack or as a side dish on your dinner table. Arbi Tuk Ingredients Arbi (Colocasia or Taro Root) - 18 to 20 pieces Oil - for deep frying Salt - as per taste Chaat Masala - 2 tsp Red

I started this blog just as a normal home chef and at that time, I did not have even slightest of an idea that my recipes would gain quite an appreciation in such a small time...today its been two and half months, and my Facebook Page has already reached 1000 + likes. For a home cook like me, it really counts as a big achievement and to celebrate it, I am here with a delectable dessert recipe which is one of my favorites, the classic chocolate glazed doughnuts . Chocolate Marble Icebox Cookies

Icebox cookies , also known as refrigerator cookies get their name from the fact that they are baked from a dough which is first refrigerated for hours to firm up and then sliced up into cookies just before being popped in the oven for baking. One of the most easiest cookie recipes on earth, one can come up with a variety of flavors and textures depending on his/her imagination. Baked Soya & Paneer Parcels | Soya & Cottage Cheese Stuffed Baked Parcels

Image
Sunday being the only holiday during the week for my husband, he just wants to relax and have good food; starting right from the breakfast to lunch to dinner, his demand for something special in the menu is never-ending. Same thing happened today also when he came up asking for some good snacks with the evening tea. And his definition for ' good' is something which often gets zeroed down to all the fried stuff. Considering his well-being (like all the caring wives 😉), this time I opted not to feed him with anything fried and instead came up with these baked parcels that are further loaded with the goodness of soya and paneer, making them all the more healthy and nutritious. The best thing is, they were just loved by my husband and he could not resist admitting "baked snacks not at all taste bad as I always thought them to be....". So, just in case you are also looking for snacks that are healthier and at the same time delicious, this is a recipe must try. Make them
