Wholewheat Blueberry & Rosemary Focaccia

Image
It had been quite a while since I had baked anything; my last baking adventure I remember was when I made these delicious, crunchy and crumbly Chocolate Marble Icebox Cookies  some 15-20 days back. So, the baking bug inside me was again ticking me to get up and provide some workout to my long resting hand and shoulder muscles (if you didn't know, baking is quite a good exercise and a relaxing therapy for your tired minds 😊). Yesterday only, I had bought a pack of fresh blueberries and rosemary from the supermarket with an idea of making a summer drink ..... but, as you know mind often plays fluky games 😉...so, I left the idea of the drink and got into the kitchen to bake this beautiful blueberry and rosemary focaccia bread and enjoyed it with my evening tea. If you too are fond of baking, go ahead and try this delicious bread and I promise, you will make it quite often.... This delicious stuffed braided pizza had been pending on my baking list for quite a while now; so, yesterday, when my husband proposed to go out for an Italian lunch, I had the much awaited opportunity knocking on my door to surprise him with this home-baked beauty. Oozing with aromas of an array of Italian herbs, palatableness of mozzarella and tongue-tickling flavors of corns, olives, tomatoes and onions drenched in dollops of pizza sauce, it came out really awesome and simply added to the list of my baking adventures. And yes! my husband too was flabbergasted by its amazing flavors which were no less than what we get in the restaurants. If you are also keen on trying this yummylicious bread, here you go with the recipe. Nothing can beat the satisfaction which you get baking a bread with your own hands at home. And if that bread is focaccia, its even more better and   truly worthy to pat your own backs. If you are thinking what focaccia is? Well! its a wonderful savory Italian flat bread, oozing with flavors and aromas of lots of herbs and vegetables. It is often served as a side dish with soups, as a sandwich bread or even used as a base for pizzas. Though the most common topping used in this delicious bread is of simple fresh rosemary, I have also topped it with garlic, tomatoes, red chili peppers and freshly chopped coriander, just to infuse in more flavors. The recipe is quite simple, do try making it and let me know how it turned out. Ingredients 3 cups plain flour/maida 1 cup luke warm milk 2 tsp salt 1 tsp sugar 7 gm/1 sachet of instant yeast 4 tbsp olive oil For Topping 3 cloves of minced garlic 7-8 halved cherry tomatoes 1 finely chopped red chili pepper 2 tsp dried rosema
