Mango Oats Smoothie

Hello Everyone, today I am here with a very simple yet a very delicious and healthy breakfast recipe - Mango Oats Smoothie

Its summer time and in such scorching heat, I mostly prefer taking a very light yet filling and healthy meal in my breakfast, which mostly consists of idli chutney, a light vegetable sandwich, poha, sooji upma, vermicelli vegetable upma etc. Lately, this list has got a very easy and delicious addition - fruit smoothies. Made with some overnight soaked oats, yogurt, milk and fruit puree, it comes out really tasty and at the same time, is quite filling which keeps you full for a long time. Needless to say, its also a very good option for those trying to shed some extra kilos.

Just for my vegan friends, I would like to mention that thought the smoothie here is made using dairy milk and yogurt, if you are vegan, you can definitely go for plant based options like soya or coconut milk and yogurt. I am sure, it would come out even more tastier. If you try out these options, do let me know your feedback in the comments section.

Lets now scroll below for the complete recipe.

METHOD

  • Start by soaking the oats in yogurt and half of the milk for 3 to 4 hours or preferably overnight. Keep the mixture in the fridge.
  • Once the oats have soaked well and are nicely swollen, making the mixture all thick and gooey, add in the remaining milk, honey, vanilla essence and mango puree.
  • Blend in a mixi jar until combined well. You can add more milk to adjust the consistency as per your choice. Generally, smoothies are little thicker than the milk shakes.
  • Garnish with some chopped mangoes and serve chilled.
One can also add some soaked ground almonds, cashews or even chia seeds in the smoothie to make it more rich and nutritious.
