Baked Paneer Bread Rolls

Looking for a healthy and quick breakfast option? Here's the recipe of these awesomely delicious and wholesome baked bread rolls stuffed with a nutritious filling of some processed and cottage cheese (paneer). Also, they are subtly spiced with only a hint of black pepper and dried oregano which makes them just so perfect for kids. Serve them with a glass or milk or any hot/cold beverage of your choice and enjoy a hearty, healthy and wholesome breakfast. 

Baked Paneer Bread Rolls


Ingredients

Bread slices - 8 to 10
Crumbled paneer - 1/2 cup
Grated mozzarella or processed cheese - 2 tbsp
Finely chopped onions - 1/4 cup
Chopped fresh coriander - a handful
Finely chopped green chili - 1
Salt - to taste
Black pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
Dried oregano - 1/2 tsp
Oil - to smear on the rolls
Water - a little


P.S - I have kept these rolls quite simple with only cheese filling. If you wish, you can also mix in vegetables like mushrooms, bell peppers or even corns in the stuffing along with cheese.

Method

1. Make the filling mixture by nicely combining paneer, processed cheese, chopped chilies, onions, coriander, salt, black pepper powder and oregano. Keep aside.
2. Take a slice of bread; if you wish cut off the edges.
3. Roll it thin using a rolling pin.
4. Next, dab some water on the slice, especially on the edges. Do not over wet the bread.
5. Now place about a tablespoon of paneer mixture on the side of the bread.
6. Next roll the bread tightly and pinch the edges together to seal it nicely.
7. Do the same for all bread slices. Meanwhile, preheat oven at 180 degrees for 10 minutes.
8. Smear some oil on top of each bread roll and pop in the oven to bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until it gets crisp and turns golden in color.
9. Take out and serve immediately with some ketchup or green chutney on the side.
