INGREDIENTS
- Chicken on bone - 1/2 kg
- Curd - 1/2 cup
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp + 1/2 tsp for marination
- Salt - to taste
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tbsp
- Lemon juice - 1 tbsp + 2 tbsp to be used in the gravy
- Oil or butter - 1 tbsp
- Ginger juliennes - 1 tsp
- Slit green chilies - 1 to 2
- Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
- Bay leaves - 2
- Black pepper powder - 1 to 2 tsp
- Milk - 1/4 cup
- Fresh cream - 1/2 cup
- Cornflour - 1 tsp
- Crushed kasoori methi - 1 tsp

METHOD
- In a bowl, combine chicken, turmeric powder, 1 tbsp lemon juice, salt, curd and ginger-garlic paste.
- Mix nicely and let the chicken marinade for atleast 1 hour.
- Once the chicken is ready to be cooked, heat oil in a kadhai.
- Add in cumin seeds and bay leaves. Let the cumin sizzle.
- Next add, ginger juliennes and slit green chilies. Fry for few seconds.
- Add turmeric powder, black pepper powder and marinated chicken.
- Cook on high heat for 5 minutes. Mix in some more salt.
- Cover and cook the chicken on medium heat for 15 minutes or until it is tender and the water is evaporated. Once the chicken looks cooked, add in 2 tbsp of lemon juice and mix nicely.
- Now combine milk, cream and cornflour in a bowl.
- Add it to the chicken and cook on medium for 5 minutes or until gravy thickens a little.
- Add in crushed kasoori methi and serve hot with your favorite flatbread.
Note: You can keep the consistency of gravy as per your preference; for a thinner gravy feel free to add a little more milk.
